Hallelujah’ Pork Dinner

Coal City United Methodist Church, located at 6805 E. McArdle Road in Coal City, invites the community to their “Hallelujah” Pork Dinner on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 4 to 7 p.m.

They will be serving tender and juicy pork roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, corn, green beans, bread, assorted desserts, coffee, iced tea and lemonade. Tickets will be sold at the door.

The cost is $10 for ages 13 and older, $6 for children ages 6-12, and children age 5 and under eat free. Carry-outs will be available. All proceeds from the “Hallelujah” Pork Dinner will go the church’s building fund.

Parish Worship Night on Aug. 12

Come away and meet with Jesus during Immaculate Conception Church’s Praise and Worship and Prayer evening at 7 p.m. Aug. 12.

Music will be provided by Alpha & Omega Worship Band.

Ice cream social on Aug. 13

The St. Lawrence Catholic Church of South Wilmington would like to extend a warm invitation to all for our annual Ice Cream Social at 11 a.m. Aug. 13. The event will take place at the parish hall in South Wilmington.

There will be Polish sausage, BBQ and hot dog meals served along with our wonderful variety of homemade desserts, which can be topped off with ice cream.

Food prices are very affordable and family friendly.

There also will be games, bingo and our famous quilt raffle drawing. This year we also will include our Lucky Duck Race at the Social.

Come bring family and friends for an afternoon of fun and entertainment at family affordable prices.

Knights of Columbus meeting

The Knights of Columbus meet the third Thursday of every month in the Meeting House at 622 E. Jackson St. in Morris.

This month’s meeting will be 6:30 p.m. Aug. 17 and will start with a light dinner followed by the monthly meeting.

All men of Immaculate Conception are welcome to attend.

First Presbyterian Church

The Ladies Brunch will take place at Sherwood Oaks in Morris at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 20.

Later that day, the church presents a concert by Danen Kane at Goold Park from 3:30 until 7 p.m.

On Monday, Aug. 21, the church will host its craft-a-month at 6:30 p.m.

The church will also host a brown bag lunch each Wednesday at noon.

Faith Baptist Church

Patch the Pirate Club will start from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, and will continue each Sunday through the school year.

Kids will grow their character through studying Bible stories and learning songs for their children’s choir.
